The Library Is Truly The Greatest Place In The World!
The Library Is Truly The Greatest Place In The World!
If libraries were ever to go extinct I think I might just lose my mind! I love the library so much and just love browsing through all of the books for hours and hours at a time! I don't know about you guys but some of my fondest memories have been tucked away inside the library reading some of my absolute favorite novels. For as long as I can remember, I have been an avid reader and I would still consider it to be one of my most prized hobbies to indulge in on one of those very slow weekends in the summer.
By no means would I consider myself a book expert but what I can say is that I don't like to read a variety of novels and have been trying branching out to other genres lately. It is so hard to read something different when you have been reading the same type of books since your high school days.
That is why I decided to take the day to browse around the library to see what else the book world has to offer me on this beautiful day! Strangely enough, I was able to spot a few good books that I would like to read one day! This is why I think it is important to keep all the libraries and book stores alive! Ebooks are cool and all but the joy that you feel in a book store is pretty indescribable! No one wants to spend the rest of their lives staring at a screen when you could feel the realities on a fresh page in a book! Now do I think libraries will ever go away? Probably not! But the world is evolving so fast that I don't know what would happen in the future! My generation loves books but who's to say that my kids would even see the point in going to the library? I hope my peers keep the value of reading in the library and expose their kids to this culture as much as possible because we can't afford to lose this luxury! But for now, I will just enjoy the bookstore for all that it has to offer and pray for the best!
Ps: I also want to point out that access to books seems to be cheaper than ever before. I remember as a kid that if I wanted to buy a new book it would take an entire $20 without taxes and now you can find relatively new books for a very small price! There are even some libraries that will allow you to pay a small donation and you can have all of the books you want! What a good deal!
Always remember, that you're never too old to visit the library and get lost in a book! If you are anxiety-ridden, or always feel stressed I would recommend getting in a quiet setting (phone/laptop free) and just read quietly. I have noticed that when I do that, I always start to think more clearly and feel a lot calmer than I did before. Sometimes all the human brain needs is a little unplug from the world and things will start to take a turn for the better! I always like to grab a cup of coffee and bring a few snacks so that I can fully enjoy the evening of reading! I would encourage you guys to get out and get to reading this summer because not only is it a free experience but it is a wonderful one as well.
As long as there is access to books, I know that is where I want to be! With that being said, do you guys have any favorite books or authors that you love? If so, let me know in the comments down below!
