Something To Think About In The Midst Of Everything That Is Happening Right Now!
Hello everyone, I hope all is well! I decided to pop on here to share a few thoughts for the day. It's only Wednesday and I already feel like my head is spinning from everything that is going on in the world. I don't know about you guys BUT sometimes I just want to take all forms of media and throw it out of the window! I remember back in the day (pre-social media) the only way to get news updates was via the television but now you can get the new any and everywhere! Open Twitter, there's NEWS, open Instagram, there's NEWS and for the first time in forever, I am starting to feel a bit overwhelmed with it all! Every day I wake up and wonder why the world is going through what it's going through and I get completely sad about it. I'm sure I don't have to go into detail about the world around us because if you have no idea then you DEF need to open your ears and listen more because there is A LOT happening right now! And on top of that, I haven't been feeling too well myself! I've' already talked about this a bit on social media but ya girl suffers from Migraines soooo badly that it absolutely ruins my days! Throughout the majority of the week, I have been in bed resting and just trying to get my life together! I am a semi-busy body so being down for so many days was just not the best moment for me but I knew I needed the rest! I know I preach this all the time but it is VITAL to set aside time to pour some positivity back into your life! If any of you are struggling with ways to do that, I can share a few of the things I like to do when my life feels like it is being turned upside down! Life is too good to be stressed, which is why I am sharing for the greater good! I hope these are useful for days when life gets hard!
6 Small Things (The List)
- Pray. Prayer helps me more than anything in this world. Anytime I feel overwhelmed I always ask God to help me see the light at the end of the tunnel! It's a full proof method that requires trust, belief, and hope!
- Reading. I don't know about anyone else but a good book helps me escape the world and enter into another one. I really believe books are still the worlds best-kept secret to my happiness!
- Take a walk. Seriously, it is the freest activity that you can do and it gives you some time to reflect and enjoy the world around you.
- Spend time with family or friends. I really believe that we are spending less time with loved ones and it really starts to affect you mentally! Sometimes this sense of loneliness comes from not having time to have real-life human interactions and that can be damaging! Make time for those little coffee dates with a friend, or watch a movie with siblings! It's totally worth it!
- GET OFF SOCIAL MEDIA. I cannot stress this enough! You have to use social media in small sections or else it will drive you insane! Trust me when I say you're not missing out on anything if you take a break! All of those food pictures and birthday updates will be there! :)
- Take care of yourself. This one is a little hard for me because I can literally go 100 miles a minute but I am learning that not only is that causing burnout but it's also very ineffective. I have been practicing listening to my hear and body over my mind and it has been working wonders. If I'm tired, I sleep. If I don't want to do the things, I don't do the things. If I want the cake, I eat the cake. Are you guys following me? Basically, I am doing more of what makes me feel good about myself and less of the daunting tasks that are taking away precious moments.
At the end of the day, life isn't always a walk in the park but if you decide to stop and smell the roses I can assure that you can find something that will make it all worthwhile. Remember to take care of yourselves, find happiness, and love the people around you. Happy Wednesday and enjoy the day!
