Welcoming A New Life In My New Jumpsuit Restyle My LifeLife Jan 1 Written By Shacarey Martin I don’t know about you guys but this past year has been absolutely insane. No, I mean absolutely insanity! I can honestly say that this may have been the worst year for everyone in the world and I really don’t know how we even made it through! However, since we are entering a different phase in life, I would like to not dwell on the past and move into a new dimension of happiness, love accomplishments, and most importantly a peace of mind. I don’t have very many goals for the New Year because let’s face it unless COVID-19 will delete itself when the clock strikes midnight and the economy will rise back up, I would say that the year will pretty much be the same and there is nothing any of us will be able to do about it. I am not saying this to be discouraging but I am saying this to be realistic about the entire situation. I really want to open this blog post and say “yassss New Year, New Me” but I just can’t do that simply because this year has changed me in ways that I never even knew was possible. With that being said, that doesn't mean that I won’t continue to look for all the positive moments in life, it just means I will be open to all of the changes that I KNOW life will throw at me and I will try to navigate them the best way that I can. In the year 2021, I really do intend to focus on ME and everything I want to out of life. I recently turned 30 years old in this quarantine and I must say it was not all that I had hoped it to be. With that being said, I really want to tackle life by the horns and knock off a few things that are on my bucket list of life. If there was any lesson that I have learned in this past year is that I won’t let anyone or anything stop me from creating the life that I want to live. I have quite a few things up my sleeve this upcoming year and I want to make sure that I let myself experience each new transition fully and with open arms. I also want to continue to explore new hobbies and find other ways to fuel my creativity. Normally, a little bit of dancing would have been my main source of inspiration and creation but since it is a bit unsafe to dance so close to other bodies at the moment I have taken solace in learning new things to enjoy while I spend my time looking at the four walls of my room. Anyways, on to more important topics! Can we just talk about my new website? I have spent the past few weeks moving my blog from Blogspot to something with a bit more pizazz and I couldn’t be more excited about it. This has been looooong overdue and it was just time to move over to a big girl site and I am honestly wondering why I waited so long to do so. A lot of my skepticism was wrapped around the fact that I am a slight control freak and I did not want anyone to put my website together for me. I decided to teach myself some basic coding skills and the rest was history. I love that the website is just a little upgrade to what I do across the web and I am completely satisfied with the way that it turned out! I know that there may be some funny business happening while I learn to truly navigate my new space but it shouldn’t be anything too crazy that I won’t be able to fix on my own!If there was any takeaway that I learned from this entire process is that I am proud that I took the time out to actually learn how to do something on my own and not constantly be in a position to always “ask someone how to do something” when all of the information is right here on the web. Like, literally..right here. I wish I would have flexed that knowledge sooner and that would have probably saved me alllllooooot of time moving over all of my old content to this new site. It was truly a beautiful nightmare but I made it through by the grace of God! Ha! Oh, and in other news, ya girl has been thrifting her heart out and I am so excited about all of the pieces that I have been finding. You know me, I love a good deal and I love to shop the clearance racks and is unique things that nobody wants. My latest thrifted treasure has been this denim jumpsuit and I am completely obsessed. I have already worn this jumpsuit one million times and I plan to wear it until I just can’t fit it anymore! I will say that I tried my hardest NOT to DIY this jumpsuit but I decided to leave it plain (for now) simply because it matches with so many things in my wardrobe at the moment. PS: another favorite item of mine is definitely these new triangle earrings that I thrifted recently! I love these so much and I just know they are going to be my favorite piece of accessories to wear this winter! And what’s a good deal without finding a few items on the clearance racks! I was able to score this cute handbag and sweater at the beginning of the pandemic out of the retail stores and I couldn’t be happier with my purchases! Not only is this sweater super warm and cozy but it is also lightweight! I love winter outfits but I cannot stand it when I have to overdress in clunky outfits in order to stay warm. I like to feel warm and comfortable and I feel like I totally nailed that combination with this look!Well, that’s all I have to chat about today! Happy New Year and I hope 2021 serves you with all love!Always Living and Forever Learning,Sha’Carey Martin Restyle My LifeLife Shacarey Martin
