Thrift Diaries: Taking a Little Look At All Of The Things I LOVE About Shopping On A Budget!
Hey guys! Welcome back to another blog post! Today is going to be all about my most favorite topic in the world; thrifting and living on a budget! If you've been a long-time reader of this blog then you already know how much I love to get everything on a budget. I very rarely pay full price for anything because I honestly believe the American dollar can go such a long way if you know how to plan right!
Now don't get me wrong, I haven't always been this way but it has taken a few years to perfect the way I shop on a budget! One of the first things I realized is that eventually, EVERYTHING will go on sale! Normally, when I want something really badly and it's too pricy, I will come and check the location several times to see if it has gone on sale or until they start to release a few coupons to apply to the full price item. I know this may seem like a lot of work but there's no such thing as too much work when you're trying to ball on a budget! Ha!
Another thing I love about thrifting is that you can always find super unique stuff. I don't mind having the same things as anyone else but I am a firm believer that everyone should have their own flare about themselves when shopping in the thrift store or else you're not going to like anything that you see! Thrifting takes VISION and the more you tap into it, the more things you will be able to incorporate into your own personal lifestyle.
Don't get me wrong, there are some days where I really like to go into the thrift store and just browse to gain personal inspiration for my wardrobe but you better believe that always results in me always purchasing something that I didn't need! I used to try to be that person that tried not to shop excessively but sometimes that's just really hard when you really enjoy the things that you do! That's why I LOVE being able to shop at an affordable rate and of course donate back to the thrift store the things I no longer use! For me not only is it more efficient BUT it's also a better alternative to throwing out the clothes that I no longer want to wear anymore!
Other Enjoyable Things About Thrifting
- One of the best things I love about thrifting is the bonds you get to build with the people in the store! I know this may sound crazy BUT sometimes I can hold a conversation for someone for 1p minutes at a time just chatting all about the things we're finding and how we have come to love thrifting so much!
- We're not even gonna started on all of the crazy things you can find in the thrift store! I never thought in a million years that I would be able to find something to decorate my desk for Fall in the thrift store but I was able to make it happen on a budget! And on top of that, I found such good stuff I know for a fact that I am going to keep it and reuse it for next year as well!
- I swear I may have found a few things in the thrift store that I have donated myself and then repurchased it because I missed it so much! Please tell me that I am not the only one that this happens to! Let me know in the comments down below if this has happened to you before!
- I am not one to bring random things into my home but on a few occasions, ya girl has fallen into the sunken place of buying something just because it was in the sale section! Ha! It's not until I arrive home and start pulling things out of bags is when I realize I may have gone a bit overboard! LOL!
Back in the day I used to always want to wear the latest clothing items and now I only aspire to wear what makes ME happy and no one else!
