Everything I Wore And Did For My 29th Birthday + The Simple Ways I Decided To Celebrate It!
Hello everyone and welcome to my little birthday post! I am super excited to have finally turned 29 and I know that this is going to be one AMAZING year! Since this is my last year of my 20's I really want to make it super special (without the pressure of course)! I know people always feel like a new year starts for them in January but I honestly think a new year starts for me on my birthday! It's just something about that one full year around the sun that makes you feel complete and ready to conquer the world.
This year I really wanted to keep all of my birthday celebrations nice and simple. I don't know about you guys but the more birthdays that pass by, the more I would like to keep it simple! Don't' get me wrong, for my 30th birthday I might do the most but this time around I wanted something more intimate and less of a fuss! As a matter of fact, I think everyone around me had more plans for my birthday than I actually did which was ok with me! Ha! I actually did so many things but I only took pictures of a few of them seeming as I was too busy having so much fun! Needless to say, this was definitely a birthday to remember and I am so very thankful for my parents, my sisters, and my bf for making this weekend super special and full of amazing surprises and I am so grateful for each and everyone one of ya! Ok, ok, ok enough yapping, let's get started with everything did for my birthday!
First things first, I woke up early that morning to get a few things for my birthday dinner. My mama and I decided to make homemade tacos so we set out on an adventure to get all of the yummy ingredients that we needed! However, while we were out picking up last minute bits and bobs my mama decided to pull over and surprise me with movie tickets to go and see Gemini Man! I was super shocked and happy because I had recently expressed that I wanted to see the movie with my bf but no one else knew about it! So 1000 points for mama and dad always going the extra mile to make things special! As you know, I couldn't wait to see the movie so I went home and decided to spend a little bit of time with my family before we both headed out to the movies for the night! The afternoon was filled with home movies, food comas and the BEST tacos in the world! I was so full that I thought I wasn't gonna make it to the late-night movie but I HAD to push through by any means necessary!
We were treated to a
Movie and Dinner date and I was super excited about it! In true Carey fashion, I took waaay too long deciding on what I wanted to eat and drink but I ultimately chose to order a Cherry and Coke Icee mix and it was soooo good! Yum!
My bf, of course, decided to get a fruit punch drink to keep it nice and basic! Ha!
I couldn't decide on if I wanted to the pepperoni pizza or the chicken strips and fries so I literally took 10 minutes to decide on that! Ha! As you can see from the picture above that the chicken basket won and I did NOT regret it! However, I must say that I took so long on deciding what I wanted to order that when my dinner did arrive I was so confused because I honestly thought I had chosen the pizza!
And of course, he chose the three-cheese chicken macaroni
(which was pretty good in my opinion)!
The Next Day....I decided to head out into the city to do a bit of shopping. Since shopping is also known as an Olympic sport, I was sure to dress nice and comfortable for the occasion! You guys know I love to recycle what's already in my closet so I decided to throw on my favorite little orange striped dress and pair it with this cute little mustard corduroy jacket! You know this look wasn't gonna be right unless I wore my new favorite comfy shoes and my thrifted handbag to tie up the whole look. I like to call this my
"
i just turned 29 and now I am wana shop comfortably" look! We all have those outfits right? LOL!
Anyways, while I was in the store I was looking around for some summer to fall fashion inspiration because I want to figure out how I am going to style all of my Summer clothes with this chilly weather!
I am totally obsessed with adding long sleeve shirts under my outfits so you know I have a few tricks up my sleeves for my Fall inspired outfits! So stay tuned!
;)
As you can tell my little shopping spree was ALMOST a fail but ya girl came through with 4 dresses for $28! Can you believe it? You guys know I love a good sale and I am so happy that I found some things that I can rock for the rest of the season!
Now you know a birthday is not a birthday unless you roll up on Starbucks to redeem your birthday reward! Ha! I normally don't get anything extravagant with my rewards but I was excited to get my little Caramel Apple Spiced Cider and it was honestly one of my favorite parts of the day! Ha!
We pretty much sat here for a few minutes before we decided to get up and take a little stroll around the city. The weather was beyond perfect and we just found a quiet place and chatted about our future, me turning 29, and other life goals that we would like to accomplish this year. We were chatting so much that we didn't even realize that the sky was changing and it was time to head home for the evening. We decided to gather our things, hop into the car and listen to some music as we navigated home to watch some movies and hang out with the family!
Now you guys know that this night wasn't going to end without a little dessert! I decided to try the Blue Bell Christmas Cookies Ice Cream and when I tell you that it tastes soooooo good! Our family went through the entire tub in two days and I am not even making that up! You guys know I wouldn't lie to you about something good so please take my word for it!
I decided to pair my ice cream with a little birthday cake bundt cake and it was the perfect concoction to add on to my late-night sugar rush! Hey, it's my birthday and I can do and eat what I wana! LOL!
Anyways, that's just some of the simple ways I decided to celebrate my birthday this weekend! Of course, there was a little turn-up but all of the good stuff cant make it to the internet am I right? Ha! Well, I guess I am going to sign off on the internet for the night! See you guys in a bit!
