Thrifting My Heart Out To The Greatness Of The Nineties And How I Wish We Could Go Back To Simpler Times
Thrifting My Heart Out To The Greatness Of The Nineties And How I Wish We Could Go Back To Simpler Times!
Honestly, nothing makes me happier than going to the thrift store to find a few of my
faaavorite items!
Every time that I find one I love, I try to always take my time looking around for unique things. My love for thrifting started off as a child but I didn't fully delve into the art form until I was in college! I guess you could say that I didn't appreciate a good pair of jeans until I had to pay for them myself! Ha!
What started off as a college hobby has now turned into something I do when I need a little bit of self-care! We all have that one
happy place in our lives whether it's Target or Disney World, we all have that one place that makes us feel the most joy! I can boldly stand here and say that thrifting is def that sweet spot for me! I guess you could say that it doesn't take much to make me this gal happy! #easyhappiness
Anyways, I recently stumbled upon this lovely thrift store that has music, DVD's, cute signs, and so much more! Everything about my little stop here felt nostalgic and full of 90's memories! I took my time and wandered around the store, often running into things that reminded me of my own childhood. I don't care what anyone says, the '90s were the BEST time to be alive because the music was banging and the movies were funny and family friendly!
But I realize that we are living in a different time now and people are navigating life very differently. Phones and technology now consume us and we often forget to just stop and appreciate the life and people that are with us on a day to day basis.
But one thing is for sure, in the month of May I want to make sure that I am paying more attention to not only myself but to others as well. It is so easy to become overwhelmed with the real world and forget about how precious life really is!
I wish we could go back to simpler times but mankind must always go forward. There's really nothing in the past besides Lion King movies and game nights with the family! I am realizing that there are all things that you can recreate on your own even without stepping back in time, but oh what we would give to see life a little less complicated than what it is now! I never intend for my thrift store moments to get so deep but sometimes you can't help where the mind wanders when you're strolling around mindlessly in the store for three hours! Besides, I think it's more than ok to walk around and reflect on life from time to time. I mean, are you really living the humanistic experience if you don't?
That's why it is important to take those days out to pamper yourself. Sometimes you just need to
brain dump a few thoughts in order to function fully again. Of course, this gives me a good reason to treat myself to a new coffee mug and pedicure not because I deserve it but because it's necessary!
i! Anyways, that's enough of me chattering for the day! Remember to make time for yourself and enjoy the life around you. As always, happy Monday and I'll see you on Wednesday! PS: What did you guys get into this weekend?
Always Living and Forever Learning,
